Renumber feature ids — Tool (QGIS)

In QGIS: Processing Toolbox › Vector table › Renumber feature ids (fid) (semanticgis:renumberfid); Processing Toolbox › SemanticGIS › Vector table (SemanticGIS plugin 0.7.15 and later).

Realises:

• Save — with makes a layer savable as a GeoPackage again

Settings that matter

• Keep the old fid in a field ‘old_fid’ keeps the previous numbers, for joining back to the original layer.

Watch out

• Use it when saving fails with UNIQUE constraint failed or failed to create feature: after Multipart to singleparts, or Buffer and Dissolve with Keep disjoint … separate.
