Heatmap — Tool (QGIS)
In QGIS: Processing Toolbox › Interpolation › Heatmap (Kernel Density Estimation) (qgis:heatmapkerneldensityestimation); Processing Toolbox only (also a renderer under Symbology › Heatmap, for display only).
Realises:
Settings that matter
- Radius: in map units (metres in EPSG:25832). Output raster size: the cell size.
- Kernel shape: Quartic, Triangular, Uniform, Triweight or Epanechnikov. Output value scaling: Raw or Scaled.
- Weight from field: each point counts with the value of a field instead of 1.
Watch out
- The Heatmap renderer in the layer’s symbology draws a density on screen but produces no data; the Processing tool makes a raster you can analyse.
