Tabulate area — Tool (QGIS)
In QGIS: Processing Toolbox › Raster analysis › Tabulate area (legend labels) (semanticgis:tabulatearealegend); Processing Toolbox › SemanticGIS › Raster analysis › Tabulate area (legend labels) (SemanticGIS plugin 0.7.14 and later).
Realises:
Settings that matter
- Labels come from the raster layer’s Paletted/Unique values style, or from a .qml file.
- Report as: pixel count, area (m² in EPSG:25832), or percent of each zone’s classified pixels.
- Values that share a label are added into one column; values without a label get a column
value <n>.
Watch out
- QGIS’s own Zonal histogram does the same counting but names the columns after the raster values (
HISTO_211000).
Checked in QGIS 4.2.2, October 2026. Names and options can differ in other versions.
